Mario Firpo is a mechanical engineer who for the past four years has made a sort of double somersault, going from cars to pizzas. Born in Brindisi 44 years ago, he moved to Turin in 1995, he came to Milan in 2011 – after leaving Fiat – and after less than two years he lost his job. Last summer, without having any experience, Mario opened a pizzeria in Milan with a name that sounds like a postcard from Posillipo: ‘Gennaro Esposito’ (in Via della Commenda 43). Mario, it is almost needless to say, is actually Neapolitan. And, of course, a Milanese.
