Regina’s smile lights up even the worst day: it’s healthy. Regina is the hospitality and solidarity living illustration. Born in Matera, one of the largest cities in Sri Lanka – 160 kilometers South of the capital Colombo, which was badly damaged by the 2004 tsunami – Regina has been in Milan since 1995: she had arrived here three years before, as an illegal immigrant. She joined her husband who had been in Milan since 1990, also as an illegal immigrant for the first two years. Regina works hard. She never complains and moves on. She laughs. Maybe because she understood a couple of things that are still very unclear to us.
